A Plant for the Production of Cathode Copper was Opened in the Karaganda Region
The opening of a joint Kazakh-Iranian plant for the production of cathode copper of IrKaz Metal Corporation LLP took place at the Borly deposit, Aktogay district, Karaganda region.
The plant's capacity is 5 thousand tons of cathode copper per year. The amount of investment for the project amounted to 11 billion tenge with the creation of 140 permanent jobs. The investor concluded an investment contract with the assistance of KAZAKH INVEST.

The Kazakh side was represented by Akim of Aktogay District of Karaganda Region Saltanat Abeuova, Deputy Head of the Department of Industry and Industrial and Innovative Development of Karaganda Region Andrey Umantsev and Regional Director of KAZAKH INVEST for Karaganda Region Madi Issekeyev.
Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Iran has been gaining momentum in recent years. In June of this year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited Iran, where agreements were reached and signed that opened up new opportunities for our countries.
One of the important agreements is the introduction of a visa-free regime for Iranian citizens for 14 days. Iranian businessmen are already making full use of this advantage, and visits of Iranian companies to Kazakhstan are organized on a regular basis.
