Road transport and roads
Karaganda Region has an extensive public transport network, including urban, suburban, and intercity routes. As of the beginning of 2024, seven carriers in Karaganda operate 45 urban and 8 suburban routes, with approximately 400 buses running daily.

There are 31 operating railway stations in the region. Movement on 8 socially significant Interdistrict (long-distance) and suburban messages of the railway passenger transport covering more than 50 settlements is organized.
In April 2018, the intra-regional socially significant railway route Karaganda-Zhezkazgan was resumed, with the frequency of running every other day on even numbers. Due to the resumption of the route, a safe, convenient and stable passenger connection with the regional center was created for residents of Zhezkazgan, Satpayev and Ulytau district. Since the launch of the route, more than 50 thousand passengers have been transported. In the future, based on the volume of passenger traffic, the issue of changing the frequency of the train to a daily one will be considered.

Air transport
One of the largest and strategically important objects of transport infrastructure of the region is the international airport "Sary-ARKA". Karaganda airport has a strong potential and complies with international norms and standards. Class airport allows you to serve aircraft of almost all types in the first category of ICAO.
From the airport there are flights to such cities as Moscow, Novosibirsk, Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kyzylorda.
Transportation of passengers on the intra-regional subsidized flight Karaganda-Zhezkazgan is also organized.
Energy infrastructure and heat supply
The length of electric networks of Karaganda region is 32558.8 kilometers, 3759-electric substations. Electricity for 82% of the region is provided from 8 thermal power plants with a total installed capacity of 2262 MW, available-1753 MW, in fact, an average of 1541 MW is produced. The region receives the missing part within 250-500 MW through flows from the power system of Kazakhstan.
The heat and power complex of Karaganda region is the largest in the Republic, it includes 9 thermal power plants, 67 local boiler houses, 735 Autonomous heating systems, 2805.3 km of thermal and 24907.8 km of electric networks.
